My name is Jenny Boran and I am on a planning committee for an upcoming event that I think your Catholic homeschooling community may be interested in! I found your contact info on the Minnesota Catholic Home Education Conference website.

Coming up in August we will have the largest private collection of Vatican artifacts on display in Duluth, MN. This collection belongs to one of our local priests and is one of the most renowned collections outside of Rome!

I am trying to get the word out to some of our local Catholic communities that might have a special interest in Church history and Catholic culture. Our Minnesota Catholic homeschooling communities came to mind right away and I wanted to reach out to you with more information to share with your families.

The event is called “Vatican Unveiled: Exploration of Legacies” and will be held in Duluth on the weekend of August 19th - 21st. On display will be 200 rare artifacts from Fr.Richard Kunst’s private collection. He has items stretching back to the 1100s!

Fr.Rich also has many relics and personal items from St.John Paul II - which are some of my favorite items to learn about. For example he has the chasuble that JP II wore at WYD Denver! You can see the white vestment in many of the promotion materials that are linked below.

This is only the second time the collection has been on public display and we’d love if your community could come join us in Duluth for this opportunity to celebrate our rich Catholic faith and history! Would you be willing to share some of the event information with the families involved in the Epiphany homeschool community?

This event is also serving as a fundraiser with all proceeds going to our local Catholic school and a wonderful pro-life ministry supporting homeless pregnant women.

For more info about the event please check out the links below.

Attached you will find a few different promotional graphics. If you would like printed posters or postcards, please let me know and I’ll send some to your office! Also below you will find a write-up of the event we’ve been using to stir up some intrigue with different Catholic communities.

Rare, historic papal artifacts collection to be unveiled in Duluth!

Dreaming of a trip to the Vatican and can’t pull it off this year? Travel to Duluth instead! The Vatican Unveiled Event being held August 19-21 in Duluth will be displaying 200 items from the largest collection of papal and Vatican memorabilia outside of Rome!

What started out as a hobby for collecting presidential autographs, turned into a papal passion for Duluth priest, Father Richard Kunst. Through the years,  Fr. Rich has built the largest collection of papal artifacts outside of Rome.  The full collection is staggering, he even has pieces that the Vatican has requested back.

Father Kunst will be unveiling his collection in an exhibit on August 19-21, 2022 at the DECC-Duluth Entertainment Convention Center.  Over 200 pieces will be on display, and all money raised will go to support Star of the North Maternity Homes (homes that support homeless, pregnant mothers and their babies) as well as Stella Maris Academy (private Catholic education).

The collection includes an array of items ranging from the chasuble worn by St. John Paul II at World Youth Day Denver, to relics of the True Cross owned by Pope Clement XI, to rare treasures from the historic Conclaves, and various relics from saints and popes! He even has a baseball signed by Pope Francis!

Please let me know if you have any questions!
